Balfour Beatty has been chosen as the construction manager by national real estate investment firm Big Rock Partners. The 225-unit community will be the first of its kind in Celebration, offering three different services, including independent living, assisted living and memory care services.
Richard Ackerman, Big Rock Partners’ senior managing principal, said senior-living facilities with resort-style amenities and in popular locations such as Celebration are rare in the Florida market. “We’re working to set a higher standard for luxury and hospitality in a caring, senior living setting that enables residents to stay involved in the wider Celebration community.”
The project will create temporary construction jobs, as well as permanent jobs to sustain the community. Amenities will include an indoor pool, movie room, fitness room, beauty salon, bank, top-floor solarium to watch Disney fireworks shows and many others. The hundreds of community residents will also help support existing local businesses like restaurants, golf courses and Florida Hospital Celebration that’s a half-mile away.
Instead of charging a large move-in fee, residents will be charged monthly rent ranging from $4,000-$5,000, a price that includes all amenities and meals.
The four-to-six-story facility plan is in its conceptual phase with architect firm Gensler, and is expected to open by mid-year 2017.
